On February 21, 2012, Moscow will welcome a lap of FIS Alpine Ski World Cup (parallel slalom). The event will be held in the southern sports area of Luzhniki Olympic Complex. This city event is significant due to the unique 60-meter (197 feet) artificial ski slope (ramp). Among the participants of the event are the Alpine Ski stars from the world’s Top 30.

The competition is co-held by Russian Alpine Ski and snowboard Federation and New League Sports Management, with the support of Russian Ski Association, Moscow Sport Committee and Ministry of Sport, Tourism and Youth Policy.

The first lap of Alpine Ski World Cup (parallel slalom) took place on January 2, 2009 in Moscow’s Sparrow Hills. This unprecedented event in the history of Russian sport was held on a unique 60-meter (197 feet) artificial ski ramp designed and installed by Russian specialists specifically for the event.
